Designing Your Kitchen Made Easy

Designing your new kitchen does not have to be a pain in the neck. In fact, you can do it from the comfort of your living room sofa. If you are the “do-it-yourself” type of person who searches for online tutorials here and there instead of going somewhere physical to get what you want, I think you would really enjoy our process for designing your own kitchen. What does the kitchen mainly comprises of? Cabinets. And here, we make it easy for you to get custom cabinets online while still enjoying the part of installing it yourself. Yes, our cabinets are ready to assemble and we deliver them straight to your door.

In case you are reading this in a place where you cannot listen to our video tutorial, let me explain to you the
basics of ordering your new cabinets online. We first need to know the measurements of your kitchen. You can browse through our sample pictures of kitchen cabinets and find the one that looks most like yours (in the case of remodeling). If you are building a brand new kitchen, then we still need the measurements and you can choose a design from our samples, or draw a sketch of the design you are thinking of and upload it to our page.

Then, we need to know more details of the style you are looking forward. You may also choose one or more styles from our gallery of pictures online so that your designer has a better idea of what you are looking for. After all, the point of this process is to create custom cabinets online that fit your need and imagination. The last step is to indicate which type of appliance (such as ovens, microwaves, fans, etc.) will be installed in your kitchen so that the space for them is accounted for during the designing of your kitchen cabinets. After you submit this, a designer will contact you shortly about your project, and if you’d like, we can even send you a free sample. I hope you enjoy your new kitchen!

The New Cabinets at my Doctor's Office

The other day I went to visit my doctor for the first time in about a year. After about 20 minutes in the waiting room, I entered the examination room and did a double-take. Was this the same place I had visited in the past? The room looked so fresh and modern. My doctor caught me looking around and said, ¨Yes, we remodeled. And yes, I did most of it myself.¨ I knew my doctor was a down-to-earth guy, but I never imagined him doing construction on his own office. The doctor said that it had been easy, mostly due to the RTA cabinets he had ordered online.

Gone were the old, dingy standard medical cabinets. The doctor had replaced them with RTA (ready to assemble) cabinets made of a beautiful beach wood. He said that the website he used allowed him to choose the material, color, size and specification of the cabinets. When they arrived, he followed the simple installation instructions. He also added a new countertop and stainless steel sink. The walls had been painted a soothing cream color, and a beautiful nature painting adorned them. The lighting fixture had been updated and now emitted a soft yellow light, instead of the standard cold fluorescent glare. The exam room was now much more pleasant. When my appointment was over, I joked with my doctor that I almost didn’t want to leave!

With his new RTA cabinets, the doctor had all of his supplies easily within reach. The relaxing office environment made me feel like my appointment was a breeze! I was so impressed with the doctor’s new office (and his medical attention) that I recommended him to several of my friends. I guess it was a great idea to remodel - it got him some more patients!

Pre-made Cabinets

My company leaders came up with a new charity program this year for the first time as part of our corporate responsibility. The project involves building homes for needy families in impoverished areas of different California counties. These homes are cozy two-bedroom homes which are 100% paid for by our company. Employees are welcomed to volunteer and join teams in charge of separate functions. I joined the kitchen team and our responsibility was to build the kitchen. I looked for pre made cabinets as they are easy to install and we began our kitchen project two weeks ago. The whole project lasts up to three months with people volunteering about 5 hours per week.

I have never done any type of community service in my life and this experience has been very rewarding for me. We received pictures of the family we are building the home for and we are going to meet them in person once the house is built. Their faces do not look all that happy on the pictures and I just hope that it changes once they see their new home. These people have gone through tough economic times, many of them single parent families where one of the parents used to be the bread-winner until they suffered some physical disability or died. We also build homes for families of war veterans who after they come back home are faced with things like disabled veterans or PTSD problems.

This week we finalized the installment of the pre made cabinets, the microwave, and the floor tiles and we also brought in the fridge and oven. At the end of each week all employees and some construction contractors get together for a potluck and celebrate our progress. See what our kitchen looks like so far!

New Kitchen Island

Growing up, I always remember my mother watching cooking shows and talking about how much she wanted an island in her kitchen. Unfortunately the house we had at the time was too small for such a thing. So when my mom inherited money from her late uncle and moved into a larger house with a sizeable kitchen, she decided to put in an island. Her friend, who is a contractor, did all of the work for her, including installing ready-to-assemble kitchen cabinets.

My mother wanted the island for counter and storage space. She wasn’t interested in adding another sink, as many people do with their kitchen islands. Without complicated plumbing, the job was simple. First, the contractor had to measure the space and find cabinets that matched the color of the existing ones. He used this great website which lets you put in your measurements and suggests the best cabinets for you. My mom was able to see a layout of the new kitchen before it was even started.

They ordered the ready-to-assemble kitchen cabinets and drawers online, and within a few days, they had arrived. The contractor installed them in a flash. The dark wood was high quality and went perfectly with the rest of the kitchen. Finally, he attached the custom-cut marble countertop. After waiting years, my mom’s dream kitchen was realized in just a week. Now, my mother has much more space to keep her cooking utensils and to prepare her delicious meals. The kitchen island even has become a gathering spot when she has guests over. She puts chips, veggie, and other snacks out and everyone stands around the island, lending her a hand by chopping, mixing and grating. The dinner is ready more quickly and both my mother and her guests have a great time!
